The BERRI Lab, led by PI Dr. Lauren Erland, Canada Research Chair in Berry Horticulutre, at the University of the Fraser Valley (www.ufv.ca) is seeking one candidate as an institutional nominee for the Canada Impact+ Research and Training Award Postdoctoral Fellowship. We are seeking a motivated, collegial postdoctoral fellow to join the lab on projects in the area of northern and native Canadian berries, food security, food sovereignty, health and nutrition. The BERRI Lab has existing research partnerships both in the Fraser Valley and in the Northwest Territories. The preferred candidate will have experience working with Indigenous Communities, ideally in the Circumpolar North, and have an interest in continuing this work in the Canadian context.

The BERRI Lab and Research Centre (www.berrilab.com) is a research-focused lab which engages with undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral researchers with the overall mandate of supporting sustainability and resilience of berry horticulture and ecosystems in the Fraser Valley and beyond. Research in the lab spans disciplines including horticulture, metabolomics, in vitro propagation, phytohormones, field studies and community-engaged research. The CFI-funded lab space is newly renovated with ultra performance liquid chromatography – high resolution mass spectrometry (Bruker Elute+ with Impact II MS), plant tissue culture facilities and plant environmental chambers.
