Benjamin is a PhD candidate in the Ecology and Natural Resource Management Section, under the supervision of Prof. John-Arvid Grytnes. My PhD project is closely linked with the Centre for Mountains in Transitions, a new interdisciplinary research centre dedicated to understanding and addressing the impacts of climate and environmental change in mountain regions.
He investigates biodiversity patterns within and across mountain ranges, focusing on species’ elevational distributions and how these vary among mountain systems. He combines (1) comparative analyses across multiple mountain ranges to assess how elevational range size and position differ among taxa and regions, and (2) evaluate how such variation influences species’ sensitivity and responses to ongoing climate change.
Benjamin holds a double master’s degree from Bordeaux Sciences Agro engineering school and the University of Bordeaux. He has had various research experiences in different part of the world, all over from the French Alps, within the University of Grenoble Alpes, the French Pyrenees, in the EPOC laboratory, to Kyrgyzstan, working with Ilbirs Foundation and the Tibetan Plateau in China, within the Qinghai Normal University.
