Jie Wang is a PhD candidate in the Department of Mathematics at UiB, funded by the NFR. Her research focuses on modelling collective mitochondrial dynamics through combined computational and mathematical approaches. Her aim is to develop stochastic models to understand mitochondrial dynamic networks, utilizing inference and optimality frameworks to describe these biological systems. Prior to her doctoral studies, Jie completed dual Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Economics at Xiamen University, and obtained a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Uppsala University.
