About

Lars is a doctoral researcher at the Institute of Synthetic Biology at Heinerich-Heine-University Düsseldorf, Germany, and member of the CEPLAS Graduate School. He establishes optogenetics in the model liverwort Marchantia polymorpha to achieve high spatiotemporal control over gene expression. With these tools, him and his co-workers want to investigate central plant phenotype signalling networks where spatial and quantitative distribution of signalling molecules is essential to plant architecture. This will reveal insights into engineering new and desired plant phenotypes thereby contributing to the development of adaptable plants for tomorrow’s needs.
